SplashLeague is a weekly classroom quiz competition on SplashLearn where students participate in Math and Reading challenges, earn points, build streaks, and compete with classrooms across the US and Canada through a fun and encouraging learning experience. Eligible classrooms are automatically enrolled based on participation requirements.
Participation Criteria
Eligible Grades: K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Eligible Countries: US, Canada
-
Class Enrollment:
A class is automatically enrolled if it has at least one student.
From the feature launch until the first event starts, the class will be enrolled only if the teacher logs in at least once.
Leaderboard Eligibility: At least 1 student from the class must participate.
-
Default Enrollment: All classes that meet the above criteria are enrolled automatically. To un-enroll a classroom from SplashLeague, you can always follow the instructions in this article. How can teachers manage class settings on SplashLearn?
How are scores calculated?
The actual average score is calculated based on the total number of active students who joined the quiz. This approach ensures fair competition between both smaller and larger classes.
Example:
Class A: 10 students → Total Score = 8,000 → Class Score = 800
Class B: 25 students → Total Score = 17,500 → Class Score = 700
Even though Class B’s total score is higher, Class A wins because its per-student average is stronger.
Quiz Scoring System & Streak Bonuses
To keep things exciting, students earn bonus points for answering consecutive questions correctly:
3 Streak → Bonus awarded
5 Streak → Bonus awarded
7 Streak → Bonus awarded
After 7, the counter resets and streak bonuses restart (3 → 5 → 7, and so on).
Important Notes:
-
If a streak is broken, the counter resets.
Example: 5 correct → 1 wrong → 3 correct = bonuses for 3, 5, and 3 streaks.
Student Participation Made Flexible
If a student leaves mid-event, their score will count based on the questions already answered.
-
If they return, they will resume from where they left off.
Example: If they answered Question 2 and exited, they start again at Question 3.
