As a teacher, assigning Math assignments to your students is crucial in reinforcing their learning and helping them master the material. SplashLearn offers the Math curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade 5 in Common Core Milestone and Common Core Standards for a teacher dashboard.
You can create/add a classroom and assign the Math assignments under your dashboard. Please follow the below steps to assign the assignments to the students:
- Log in to your teacher's account with your registered email address and password.
- Once logged into your teaching dashboard, look for the "Assign Curriculum" tab under the "Math" section and expand it to click on the "New Assignment" tab.
Now, assigning assignments can be done in two ways. You can either automate the assignment by assigning the entire topic to the whole classroom or manually assign the assignment with one skill at a time and select students per your preference. Below, you'll find two options for you to choose from. Simply follow the steps for the one you prefer:
Select a topic to assign to the whole classroom:
You can select a topic that aligns with the lessons you have covered in class or requires additional practice. You can automate the topic to be given to the students, and the students can advance one skill at a time. Now, it's time to choose the topic for the practice assignment.
- Click on the "More Topics" dropdown and select the topic.
- Once done, click "Assign" to assign the topics to the students in the classroom.
Please note that the topic selected by the teacher is assigned to the whole classroom at once.
Select a skill to assign:
Now, if you don't want to assign a whole topic all at once! You can always choose specific skills to assign to your students.
- Select it from the "TOPIC" that matches your preference.
- Click on the "Assign" button against the learning objective of your choice. The learning objectives comprise one or more playable/skills that students can play.
- Before assigning the practice assignment to your students, you have the option to preview it.
- Finally, select or deselect the students and click "Assign." Once done, the assignments will be given to the students, who can access them under the "From My Teacher" tab.
Points to remember:
- Please note that assignments can be given at different grade levels. You can choose the appropriate grade level from the drop-down menu and assign the assignment per your requirement.
- Assignments in SplashLearn can only be assigned and accessed within the SplashLearn platform. Teachers cannot post assignments on external platforms like Google Classroom or Clever, and students need to log in to SplashLearn to access their assignments.
- Assignments offer a read-aloud feature, enabling students to complete tasks, skills, or activities with audio guidance. Additionally, students have the option to deactivate or disable/turn off this feature while working on assignments.
- Assignment scheduling is not available. The teacher has to assign the activities to the students.
- The co-teacher can also assign assignments, assessments, and math facts. They can also re-assign the assignments.
Know why the students are unable to view the assignment:
- If the assignments are missing from the student dashboard (Under the "From My Teacher" tab), one possible reason is that they might be logged in to the incorrect classroom. SplashLearn allows teachers to create multiple classrooms, and it's important to ensure students are logged in to the correct classroom where the assignments are assigned. Learn more about how you can help students log in to their accounts from the article: A step-by-step guide for Teachers to help their students log in/sign in.
- Another thing to note is that if students are trying to access assignments from home, they must log in using the email address their parents used to set up the classroom-linked account. Alternatively, they can also sign in using the "Class Code" and "Password" provided by the teacher.
- Additionally, check if Home Access is enabled for your students. If Home Access is not enabled, students may be unable to open or access assignments from home/beyond 3:00 PM local time. Learn more about enabling Home Access from the article: How can a teacher enable home access for the students?
